Themba has had an illustrious career
in marketing, starting at Unilever,
then Coca-Cola Southern Africa
Division, then as General Manager
Brand Marketing for MTN and Commercial
Marketing Director for Cell C. Most
recently he was global Chief Marketing Officer, South
African Tourism from 2003 to 2006. Here Themba was responsible
for and delivered a new global tourism brand for South Africa
and rolled it out across 11 countries worldwide, an effort
that contributed to double-digit growth figures. The initiative
also won numerous marketing awards across the globe –
including the Grand Prix Award in the corporate section of
the South African Loerie Awards.
Recently, Themba developed and delivered a new Tourism Marketing Strategy for The Kingdom of Swaziland Tourism Authority as well as the Swaziland 2010 Soccer World Cup Leverage Plan. Themba has also been working with the South African Government Communications and Information Services (GCIS) and the International Marketing Council (IMC) to review the last 15 years of government communications in South Africa and to develop the Government Communications Framework for the next 10 years.
