James is a Director of africapractice
with responsibility for the Corporate
Citizenship Centre, the North Africa region, and
the Business Intelligence service. He trained as a
management consultant with Deloitte Consulting,
specialising in media and telecommunications, and is an accredited GoodCorporation consultant
in ethical business. James has managed social marketing projects for the international
non-governmental organisation Population Services International, using the power of commercial
marketing to help prevent the spread of HIV in Zambia and across East and Southern
Africa. He has coordinated research projects for clients to provide advice on their entry strategy
to expanding business in Africa, supported clients in strategy and structure for their corporate
foundations, and designed community relations programmes across Africa. He has
also worked with a number of multinationals in Africa including The Coca-Cola Company
and its bottlers, Diageo, and Barclays. He speaks English, Arabic and French, and has travelled
extensively in Africa and the Middle East. James holds an MA in Islamic and Middle
Eastern Studies from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University.
