Our people have joined africapractice from a variety of disciplines. We are politicians, analysts, project managers, journalists, diplomats, public relations professionals and economists. All of us are trained communicators and all of us have analytical minds.





Roddy Barclay

Roddy is Head of the Intelligence and Analysis team at africapractice. In this role, Roddy leads the company’s political risk advisory and business intelligence practice across sub-Saharan Africa. He has over seven years’ experience advising businesses that are investing or operating in Africa with a particular specialism in West Africa. 


Prior to joining africapractice, Roddy worked as a Senior Consultant at Control Risks, where he was also the lead analyst on West Africa. Over the last seven years, he has travelled extensively across Africa for consulting and networking purposes, with regular travel to key market hubs such as Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya, and consulting trips to over 12 other African states. Roddy is a regular commentator in the media on African politics, business and security issues. He holds a First Class degree in Modern Languages from the University of Bristol.
