For the past 4 years sub-Saharan Africa has been growing at a rate of over 4% per annum making it the second fastest growing region in the world after Asia. In the face of the global economic downturn the question before us now is “is the case for Africa still sound?” Although investing in Africa may appear to be under threat in the short term, it remains fundamentally sound in the medium to long term, we believe. There has been much talk about Africa’s immunity, or lack thereof, to the economic crisis as the world economy stagnates.
