africapractice responds to booming African economy with senior hire - Audrey Mpunzwana

Date: 02/05/2008

africapractice, the only corporate communications and public affairs consultancy dedicated to Africa, is delighted to announce the appointment of Audrey Mpunzwana as an Associate Director in its London office.

Audrey began her career as an award-winning broadcaster in Zimbabwe. She has since served as Head of Corporate Affairs for Africa at Standard Chartered Bank, and as a Director in the Corporate Affairs team at Barclays Bank plc. Most recently she has been working for the Vice President of Corporate Services at the African Development Bank.

Audrey has ten years experience managing strategic communications for multinational corporations across Africa.

Demand for africapractice’s services is growing on the crest of an economic boom in Africa that shows no signs of weakening despite the global credit crunch.

Marcus Courage, Managing Director, commented, “Audrey brings lots of experience working across multiple geographies in Africa, in a highly competitive and heavily regulated sector – retail banking. She is a fantastic asset for any organisation looking for advice and support on a continent that is geared for growth. I am thrilled to welcome Audrey to our team at the most exciting period of growth africapractice has seen in our five years of existence.’’

Audrey will join africapractice in mid-May.

africapractice is headquartered in London with offices in Accra, Johannesburg, Lagos and Nairobi, each coordinating a network of regional affiliates.

Notes to Editors:
Founded in 2003 with a staff of three, africapractice today employs 24 full time staff across four offices. The Group’s Board comprises leading African and British industrialists.
