Diageo Africa - DABRA
In 2003 Diageo, one of the world’s leading premium drinks companies, commissioned africapractice to organise a series of meetings examining how a shortfall in reliable information on Africa's business environment might be hindering greater investment on the continent, which at the time was less than 2% of global foreign direct investment.
Building on the outcomes of the meetings, africapractice was consequently retained by Diageo in 2004 to establish the inaugural ‘Diageo Africa Business Reporting Awards’, which aimed to reward excellence in business reporting in Africa and to stimulate the profile and volume of African business reporting in the international media.
As consultants to Diageo, africapractice has provided a range of services, including the production of a film and website, media relations and a comprehensive stakeholder engagement programme to support DABRA as it has grown year on year, with progressively greater competition in quality and quantity in 2005, 2006 and 2007. www.diageoafricabusinessreportingawards.com.
