Coca-Cola Africa – Integrated communications services

africapractice has worked with Coca-Cola Africa since 2001 to provide a range of communications services. In 2004, we were commissioned to design and implement an internal communication strategy around an organisational redesign. africapractice consultants advised Coca-Cola Africa senior management on the delivery of clear and consistent communications both to staff and to bottling partners. africapractice's creative team designed a range of communication tools to support this project, including leaflets and presentation toolkits.

Following the redesign, the company launched an internal employee engagement initiative in 2005 to inspire and align their people going forward. africapractice consultants designed the strategy for communicating this programme, ran a series of workshops across the continent and produced a set of reports to present the outcomes and commitments made during the meetings.

Externally, africapractice consultants have conducted media relations for The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation; prepared submissions to the UK International Development Select Committee showcasing the Company’s work in tackling HIV/AIDS, and provided profile opportunities for senior Coca-Cola management at Bending the Arc, a joint UN/NEPAD initiative managed by africapractice to communicate the role of business in enabling development in Africa. Our consultants have also written speeches and presentations for the CEO and Business Unit Presidents at high profile international fora.

africapractice consultants were retained in October 2006 to advise The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation on communications strategy, both internally within the Coca-Cola system and externally to the Foundation’s key stakeholders, and also to manage joint communications initiatives with programme partners. Reporting is a key element in communicating the success of the Foundation’s programmes; we designed and produced the Company’s Citizenship report in 2003; and its HIV reports in 2004 and 2006.
