City of London Corporation / DfID - Rwanda and Tanzania Investment Symposium

In November 2007, a symposium on investment in Africa was created to improve the investment attractiveness of Rwanda and Tanzania, primarily to the City of London. The aim of the day was to showcase the reforms the countries had made and the opportunities available to potential investors.

The Rwandan President was present on the day itself to lend his support to the initiative and to present his vision, outlining why Rwanda is ripe for investment. He was joined by ministers from both countries, together with Shriti Vadera, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, DfID, and the session was chaired by Michael Snyder, Chairman of Policy and Resources from the Corporation of London.

africapractice was brought in to identify qualified investors and members of the financial community who would potentially be interested in investing in these two countries. In addition, africapractice identified a wider group of stakeholders with an interest in Africa, drawn from business and industry. africapractice identified speakers and moderators, including Tony Colman, a director at africapractice.
